How do we develop healthy, loving, and meaningful relationships?

It is a common maxim that we can learn from our mistakes. When we become honestly aware of any problems in our relationships, a moment of healing is grasped. Confronting the dysfunction is the key to developing healthier relationships.

In this presentation, Father Leo, in the tradition of Aesop, uses five fables to illustrate the elements of healthy business and personal relationships.

The Five Spiritual Laws

1. Empowerment: Lazy Man shows how indolence eventually leads to unhappiness. Divine Spirit expects us to actively create our personal peace and prosperity. And in doing so, we receive the best.

2. Trust: Little Princess and Blind Horse explores the spiritual value of personal independence. Often, we already know intuitively what is right for us.

3. Transformation: The Blessing Bridge illustrates how real change requires decision and dedicated work. The rewards are infinite.

4. Honesty: If we look through the eyes of God, we see beauty in everything. The Monk and His Disciple shows how spirituality is based on embracing life, not avoiding it.

5. Persistence: In the fable Best Friends, innocence often precedes tragedy. However, miracles do happen if you are persistent.

About Father Leo Booth

Dynamic, challenging, insightful and witty, Father Leo Booth is a priest cut from a very different cloth. He says you don't have to be religious to be spiritual. He's as likely to quote from the Beatles, The Velveteen Rabbit, or Oscar Wilde, as he is from the Bible.

A former Episcopal priest, Father Leo Booth is an internationally acclaimed author, lecturer and trainer on all aspects of spirituality and recovery from depression, addictions, compulsive behaviors and low self-esteem. "My basic definition of spirituality is a positive and creative human being. Taking care of your body, avoiding harmful behaviors and unhealthy relationships are spiritual acts," says Father Leo Booth.

Born and educated in England, he was raised in a home divided by religious arguments. Driven and ambitious, he became one of the youngest rectors in England. He also became an alcoholic and a religious addict. After a drunken car crash in 1977 led to his treatment for alcoholism, he subsequently devoted his work to helping addicts and others who suffer from low self-esteem.

He holds a Masters degree in Theology from King's College, London, England, and is a Certified Addictions Counselor, a Certified Eating

Disorders Counselor and a NAADAC Approved Education Provider.

Father Leo speaks at many National and International conferences, plus churches of all denominations. In addition to specific in-

services and lectures on religious addiction and abuse, Father Leo presents on a broad spectrum of issues to a variety of organizations and institutions. He is also the Spiritual Advisor for Share House Recovery Center in Fargo, ND.

Father Leo contributes regularly to newspapers across the United states and has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Geraldo, Sally Jesse Raphael and Good Morning America.
